It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Peter Flack, who unfortunately passed away last Friday.

Peter is both a Coburg Cricket Club & VSDCA Hall of Fame Member. He has made great contributions to both our Club and the association.

Our thoughts are with Peter’s family during this sad time 🤍

On behalf of Coburg Cricket Club we would like to thank Cam, Noah, Sid and Osh for their contribution to the club over the past 6 months!

It would have been no easy task moving to a different country but the fab four took it amongst themselves to always display positivity and enthusiasm. Not only did they help create a strong foundation for our Mens First XI (with Noah and Cam flaunting their class each week and etching their names into our club history books) but they managed to bring life to even the smallest of club functions (credited to Sid and Osh’s karaoke abilties of course). The effort from the boys both on and off the field this season cannot be faulted.

Cam, Noah, Sid and Osh, it has been an absolute pleasure having you boys be a part of our club, season 2024/25 would not have been the same without you.

We wish you all the best in your future endeavours ❤️

A massive congratulations to our 4th XI boys who brought home the flag in a thrilling win against Strathmore!

After a rocky start, Luke Cameron showed composure beyond his years compiling a well fought 35 but it was senior citizen Brian Lassey who took Coburgs tally to a competetive score of 169.

The boys were up and about from the start. It was a complete team effort in the field with lots of individual highlights. With Luke taking 3 catches and 2 stumpings and skipper Zac’s 2/44 off 25. Honours go to youngster Bash who demonstrated his wizardry taking 5/34 off 25.5 overs 🧙

Brian Lassey was awarded man of the match for his 68* and 2/25 off 10.

We can’t go without acknowledging Christian La Porta’s class off the field, providing the boys with fresh cuts ahead of their pub crawl.

Let the mad monday begin 🫡

A little run down of our 2024/25 J G Craig Shield Tournament!

Damon Lynch took home the bowling award after taking 12 wickets @ 7.17 throughout the tournament. Damon showed his class against Plenty Valley after taking 6/7. Congratulations Damon!

Luke Cameron won not only the batting award but also the Peter Gourlay Best Player Shield! Luke had an outstanding tournament making 182 runs @ 36.4, taking a hat-trick against Preston and leading from the front as a captain. Very well deserved Luke.

On the weekend, 3 former players in Tucky’s Craig Shield Squads - Bailey Kennedy, Blake Karvelis and Harry Marr - played together in our Men’s First XI, it has been very special watching our junior players progress throughout the years, well done boys!

A special mention to one of our 2024/25 captains, Darcy Parker, who showed his talents outside of cricket by taking home a medal in the Victorian Championship Long Jump. We love to see our club represented at different events!
