Senior Men’s Coach
The Coburg Cricket Club is seeking applications for the Senior Men’s Coach position for season 2025/26 onwards. The Club’s preference is for a playing coach; however a non-playing coach will be considered. The position is open for applicants who are passionate about delivering a high-performance Men’s program to the Merri-Bek community.
The Coburg Cricket Club is affiliated with the Victorian Sub District Cricket Association (VSDCA), North West Metropolitan Cricket Association (NWMCA), CV Women’s Community Cricket and Veterans Cricket Victoria (VCV), providing an inclusive and diverse environment on and off the field that dates back to 1856, making it one of Victoria’s oldest clubs based at the heritage listed Coburg City Oval.
The successful applicant will be required to work with the current on-field leaders, along with our young, diverse Senior Men’s group, to develop a high performance cricketing program that focuses on the on-going development of Club members and teams, that will help set up the Coburg Cricket Club for sustained success moving forward.
The successful applicant will need to deliver on key responsibilities listed below:
· Develop a short- and long-term vision of success for the club
· Build positive relationships with all members within the club to create a ‘one club’ mentality
· Construct a coaching support structure that will be the blueprint for success moving forward
· Design and implement engaging and effective coaching sessions that meet the needs of individuals and teams
· Provide constructive, on-going guidance to players to assist with the development of their cricketing skills and fitness
· Lead team selection across all grades
· Organise pre and post season programs
· Be actively involved in driving the recruitment strategy
The successful applicant will ideally have the below skills and accreditations:
· Ideally Level 2 coaching accreditation (or in the process of obtaining Level 2), if not Level 1 Coaching Accreditation
· Extensive experience working/playing within a high performing cricketing environment
· Excellent organisation skills
· Strong communication and leadership skills
· Ability to lead and drive cultural change
· Working with Children’s check (or the ability to obtain one).
